Just as THE LOST STAIRCASE is mentioned in CHALET SCHOOL GOES TO IT / CHALET SCHOOL AT WAR as being told to Jo Maynard by a Chalet pupil, this story was later published as Elinor Brent-Dyer's CHUDLEIGH HOLD.
