Description of Photograph
An oval shaped photograph of a custom-built pine bookcase measuring 51 inches by 60 inches (129.5 cm by 152.4 cm) and a nest of tables in front of the bookcase on the left of the photo.
The bookcase has five shelves, with ornaments on the top shelf and books on the remaining four shelves.
The first row of books are all Chalet hardbacks. Most have dust jackets although many of the covers for the books at the begining of the series are photocopies The three Annuals are at the start of the shelf on the left and the Chalet books run from THE SCHOOL AT THE CHALET to A PROBLEM FOR THE CHALET SCHOOL.
The series continues on the next shelf (all having original dust jackets), and after the end of the series there is the CHALET GIRLS COOKBOOK and then the La Rochelle series in hardback, followed by a medley of other Brent-Dyer titles.
There is a short span of Chalet paperbacks on the fourth shelf, slightly hidden by the nest of tables. The majority of these are 1970s-early 1980s copies. The rest of this shelf and the one at the bottom contain a mixed-bag of writers and series.
